Delegation

Duration: half day

Objectives

To provide a forum to discuss current issues, a place to learn new techniques and a chance to try out the new skills in delegation.

It can often seem easier to do a job yourself than take the time to explain it to others. However if you don't delegate the right tasks to the right people at the right time, your team won't develop - and neither will you.

Benefits

  • Build confidence to tackle common delegation problems
  • Workshop solutions to current issues
  • The practical emphasis within the course, ensures that you will be able to take these insights forward into real life

Content

The workshop will cover the following areas:

  • The benefits of delegation
  • Why don't you do it?
  • Ego vs. task
  • Trusting your people
  • Freedom and authority
  • Responsibility and accountability - is there a difference?
  • Levels of delegation
  • How to stop repeating yourself
  • Decision making and deadlines
  • Feed forward not back

The workshop is aimed at people who are responsible for managing staff and improving performance.
Intermediate level course, typically for media people with 3-5 years experience, although more experienced managers could also find this beneficial.
